⌨️ Type

Type your name and choose from several signature-style fonts. Preview different styles before selecting.

📤 Upload

Upload an image of your existing signature (PNG, JPG). Transparent backgrounds work best.

  3. Drag to reposition if needed
  4. Use corner handles to resize
Tip: Your signatures are saved locally in your browser for quick reuse. Clear browser data to remove them.

Annotations

Add notes, highlights, and comments to your documents:

Highlight Tool

Select text and apply highlights in various colors. Great for reviewing documents or marking important passages.

Drawing Tool

Freehand drawing for marking up documents, circling items, or adding handwritten notes.

Shapes

  • Rectangle - Draw boxes around content
  • Circle/Ellipse - Highlight circular areas
  • Line - Draw straight lines
  • Arrow - Point to specific content

Comments

Add text comments that appear as icons on the document. Click to expand and read the full comment.

Form Filling

PDFox automatically detects fillable form fields in your PDF documents.

Auto-Detection

When you open a PDF with form fields, PDFox highlights them automatically. Simply click on a field and start typing.

Supported Field Types

  • Text fields - Single and multi-line
  • Checkboxes - Click to check/uncheck
  • Radio buttons - Select one option
  • Dropdown menus - Choose from options
  • Date fields - Date picker available
  • Signature fields - Insert your signature

Images & Stamps

Adding Images

  1. Click the Image tool
  2. Select an image file (PNG, JPG, GIF supported)
  3. Click on the document to place the image
  4. Drag corners to resize, maintaining aspect ratio

Stamps

Quick-access stamps for common document needs:

  • APPROVED / REJECTED
  • DRAFT / FINAL
  • CONFIDENTIAL
  • FOR REVIEW
  • COPY / ORIGINAL
  • Date stamps

Redaction

Permanently remove sensitive information from your documents.

Important: Redaction is permanent. Once applied and saved, the redacted content cannot be recovered. Always keep a backup of your original document.

How to Redact

  1. Select the Redact tool
  2. Click and drag to select the area to redact
  3. The selected area will be marked for redaction
  4. Save the document to apply redactions permanently

Redaction vs. Highlighting

Unlike black highlighting, proper redaction removes the underlying content completely. The data is deleted from the PDF, not just covered.

AI Text Recognition (OCR)

Convert scanned documents and images into editable, searchable text using our AI-powered OCR technology.

When to Use OCR

  • Scanned paper documents
  • PDFs created from photos
  • Documents with text as images
  • Old documents without selectable text

How It Works

  1. Open your scanned PDF
  2. PDFox automatically detects if OCR is needed
  3. Click "Run OCR" when prompted
  4. Wait for processing (varies by document size)
  5. Text becomes editable and searchable
Tip: For best OCR results, ensure your scanned documents are clear, well-lit, and at least 300 DPI resolution.

Document Sharing (Pro)

Share your documents securely with anyone via unique links.

Creating a Share Link

  1. Click the Share button
  2. Optionally set a password for protection
  3. Click "Create Link"
  4. Copy and send the link to recipients

Share Link Features

  • 24-hour expiry - Links automatically expire for security

  • No account needed - Recipients don't need PDFox accounts
Note: Document sharing is only available with Pro access. Share links expire after 24 hours.
